Sneak Peek: Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Puerto Rico
The latest Ritz-Carlton Reserve opened on December 12 on Dorado Beach, a private three-mile stretch of the Puerto Rican coastline. Built on the former Laurance Rockefeller estate, which abuts 1,400 acres of forest, the property features 115 rooms and suites and a four-bedroom beachfront villa, known as Su Casa, which was restored from the property’s pre-Rockefeller days as a plantation. The property hosts chef José Andrés’s first restaurant outside the United States and the five-acre Spa Botánico, which comprises 12 treatment pavilions and tree-house-style treatment platforms set among private gardens. Rooms start at $1,499 per night in high season. (787.626.1100, www.doradobeachreserve.com)
