The Macallan & Roja Dove “Edition No. 3” – a sensory voyage of Scotch whiskey discovery

The third release of Macallan’s “Edition” series is the result of the collaboration between the master whiskey maker, Bob Dalgarno, and one of the most respected noses in the perfume industry, Roja Dove.

Together they embarked on a sensory journey of discovery, as Roja made use of her remarkable knowledge of aroma to inspire the selection of oak barrels. The aroma is the integral part of the whiskey tasting experience, and that’s why the Macallan “Edition No. 3” is so exciting.

With a mixture of six types of barrels, this whiskey has the complex aromas of a fine fragrance, with notes of flowers, vanilla ice cream and orange oil that leads to chocolate and burnished oak. The vanilla stays on the tongue, interspersed with sweet fruit, rich fruit cake and light resin.

Around 250,000 bottles of Macallan’s “Edition No.3” were manufactured, each of which costs approximately $ 95 (82 euros).
