Sneak Peek: Alpina Gstaad, Switzerland
The Alpina Gstaad opened on the first of December, making it the first luxury hotel to open its doors in the picturesque Swiss ski village of Gstaad in over a century. The 56-room hotel is a contemporary interpretation of a classic Swiss chalet, built with locally sourced materials such as stone from the Alps and reclaimed timber from centuries-old farmhouses in the Saanenland.
The Alpina Gstaad has three restaurants, including the first European outpost of Japan’s Megu. It also has a 21,500-square-foot Six Senses Spa that offers a range of treatments, including traditional Thai, Japanese, and Swiss therapies. Other amenities include a fitness center, a wine room, a private cinema, indoor and outdoor pools, and a Havana-inspired cigar lounge. Room rates start at about $930 per night.
