Mandarin Oriental announces a luxury hotel in the city of Beijing, China

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that it will manage a luxury hotel in the heart of Beijing, expected to open in 2018. Located in a traditional Hutong neighborhood near Tiananmen Square, the hotel will offer guests a unique opportunity to experience luxury in a traditional and authentic Beijing setting.

Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing is located in the Qianmen East Hutong neighborhood, where a process of preservation and regeneration is taking place. Hutongs date back to the 13th century and consist of houses with traditional courtyards connected to each other by narrow streets and passageways. The architectural style of these patios is unique in the capital. The hotel will occupy several houses in which the traditional residences, services, restaurants, bars and cultural spaces will be distributed.

Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing will offer spacious and luxurious suites with landscaped courtyards, where guests can experience the charm of this traditional lifestyle in the maze of alleys of one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city.

The hotel will also feature a variety of restaurants located in the Hutong courtyards, including an all-day dining concept with a terrace, a Chinese restaurant, a lounge, a traditional tea room and a Mandarin pastry shop. The project will also have multifunctional rooms.

The Mandarin Oriental Spa will provide holistic rejuvenation and relaxation programs in serene surroundings. In addition there will be other leisure facilities such as an indoor swimming pool and a well-equipped gym.

The Mandarin Oriental Qianmen is within walking distance of Beijing’s main tourist attractions, such as Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven.

The hotel is developed by Beijing Tianjie Group Company Limited.
