Kasbah Tamadot: Richard Branson’s Exclusive Luxury Resort in Marrakech, Morocco

Located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, about an hour from downtown Marrakech in Morocco, Kasbah Tamador is 1,320 meters above sea level overlooking the valley where the river rises and falls with the seasons.

The award-winning resort Kasbah Tamadot was bought by Sir Richard Branson during one of his famous ballooning expeditions in the region. Branson discovered Kasbah Tamador when he visited Morocco in his trip around the world in a hot air balloon.

It was his parents, Ted and Eve Branson, who found the beautiful Kasbah and dreamed of turning it into a wonderful Moroccan retreat.

Richard did not complete his mission in the balloon, but he bought the magnificent Kasbah and made the dream of his parents become reality when the luxurious resort opened its doors to the first guests of the hotel in 2005.

A Magical Place – Kasbah Tamadot has 27 bedrooms and suites including nine luxurious Berber tents, some of which have their own swimming pools.

Each room has been individually decorated to reflect the beautiful architecture of the building and infuse the traditional charm of Moroccan design with contemporary elements and antiques from the vast collection of Luciano Tempo, the former owner of the resort.

The nine luxurious Berber tents are perfect for those looking for a little more adventure. Enjoy the views from your private terrace with sun loungers and space for outdoor dining. Five suites have their own jacuzzi. All suites have king size beds, indoor bath and definitely will earn points if you want to conquer that special someone on a romantic getaway.

Moreover, Kasbah Tamadot has a master suite, a miniature version of Kasbah.

This incredible suite offers an amazing view and has three special rooms, which are usually reserved together. It also has a large terrace with a private pool. The building itself is rich in architectural detail and allows complete privacy.

Inside the master suite are the deluxe bedroom deluxe suite on the lower level with a private pool and rooms that interconnect. Upstairs there is an upper bedroom with a large terrace.

The master suite is perfect for a larger group or those seeking a holiday with many friends.

The days can be spent in the heated infinity pool or you can be pampered at the spa or hammam. Dinners are reserved for the Kanoun restaurant which combines local and international flavors with herbs and vegetables grown right in the garden of the resort.

Kasbah Tamadot is simply a place to go as it’s truly one of the world’s best hotels.
