The Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet was one of the most anticipated vehicles this year. And no wonder: only 99 units were produced and 98 were sold even before the end of the Geneva Motor Show.
The last of these luxury SUVs was kept by Mercedes-Benz with the purpose of auctioning it and donating the money to charity. The appointment is on October 6 with the house Bonhams in charge of the bids in its Zoute auction.
The proceeds will be donated to “Laureus Sport for Good”, a charity of which Mercedes-Benz is a global partner and which focuses on helping children and young people overcome violence and discrimination through sport.
This incredible SUV became the most expensive ever built, with an asking price of $760,000 (630,000 euros); but the features prove that every penny is worth it, as it is capable of mastering the most challenging terrains thanks to its design being based on the Mercedes G500 4×4 SUV.
The Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet is more than 5 meters long and 2 meters high with a ground clearance of half a meter. It is powered by a twin-turbo V12 6.0-liter engine with 625 horsepower.
Thus, this jewel becomes the first G650 Landaulet to go on public auction, which coming directly from the manufacturer is an event that is rarely repeated.
