From September 12 to 24, during the celebration of the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lamborghini will officially unveil its new Aventador S Roadster, the latest update of its Aventador model that will leave more than one with its mouth open.
The good news is that before the formal debut of this magnificent convertible, the Italian manufacturer has released some incredible details. We begin with the Blu Aegir painting, which according to Lamborghini is inspired by the “turquoise Pacific ocean that hides in the background an indomitable, sophisticated but powerful force.”
Like the Lamborghini Aventador S Coupe, the S Roadster carries performance upgrades, which makes it not only the fastest vehicle but also the best to drive.
It also resembles the previous version in the 6.5 liter V12 engine, which has been set to offer 740 horsepower, enough to reach a top speed of 349 km / h (217 mph) by improving downforce in a amazing 130%.
All this combined with a 7-speed gearbox and 4-wheel drive that allow you to drive from 0 to 100 km / h (62mph) in 3.0 seconds, only 0.1 seconds slower than the coupé.
The Aventador S Roadster also features the four-wheel steering system seen for the first time in the limited-edition Lamborghini Centennial and which works as follows: At low speeds, the rear wheels rotate in the opposite direction to the front to reduce the turning circle and improve maneuverability. While at high speeds, the rear wheels rotate in the same direction as the front wheels for greater stability.
The rear spoiler, suspension, steering and other functions can be adjusted by four driving modes: Strada, Sport, Corsa and Ego. This last modality, new in Aventador S, allows to the driving to create a customized configuration adjusting each parameter to his taste.
Also, carbon fiber roof panels designed for outdoor driving can be stored in the trunk, and attached and detached with a quick-grip system. The vehicle also has an electric rear window, which can be raised or lowered regardless of the roof mode.
The Aventador S Roadster has a base price of $460,000 (382,000 euros) and deliveries start in February next year… do you want it?
