Luxury Interior Design In Rich Jewel Tones by Perla Lichi

Talented Designer Creates Luxurious Ambiance In Rich Jewel Tones

The clients wanted their vacation seaside home to reflect the best of Perla Lichi’s masterful layering of detail on detail in an ambiance rich with Baronial-style opulence. The result is an ocean side residence with luxurious furnishings, artfully positioned in a sea of vibrant jewel tones by this award-winning designer. The entry hallway sets the tone with an array of ornately framed classical artwork and mirrors and two large decorative urns. Double stained-glass doors feature an Art Nouveau pattern that establishes the jewel-tone color palette of emerald, ruby and gold that flows throughout these interiors. From the selection of upholstery fabrics to the wood tones of cherry and mahogany utilized to create unique custom architectural built-in furniture and decorative detailing, this residence combines the best of both worlds – style and comfort.

Explains Ms. Lichi, “We were able to accommodate the client’s wishes—but at the same time keep in style with the very elegant and sophisticated décor of the living room. The open space planning design called for creation of two seating arrangements. The smaller sitting area is a good example of the use of jewel-toned upholstery that coordinates perfectly with the red undertones reflected throughout the entire living area. Custom columns and soffits delineate a formal dining room area without closing up the magnificent view. Fluted mahogany columns help to define and divide the area from the rest of the space.

A leaf-patterned red-and-gold fabric contrasts and coordinates with the rich palette was selected for dining room chair upholstery to enhance an etched glass rectangular tabletop with gold highlights. Crown molding in tones of mahogany delineates the ceiling soffit highlighted by a wrought iron chandelier with lampshades to further diffuse the light. Intricate detailing of the chandelier and some of the applied moldings add to the overall ambiance. In fact, custom built-ins throughout this apartment transform the architecture from plain to magnificent, adding depth, dimension and storage.

This living room is enhanced with textures and finishes that have been masterfully blended by Designer Perla Lichi. Rich textures, fabrics and finishes give this Baronial style décor a warm, inviting and homey look. Cornices above the window coordinate with the upholstery on the chairs. A custom-designed area rug is positioned to create an “island effect” with the seating—all surrounded by glass windows facing magnificent water views.

The designer transformed the basic bathroom provided by the builder into an opulent Renaissance-style “boudoir. A rich red onyx vanity countertop with special edging ties in with a Jacuzzi tub enclosed with onyx finish. European cabinetry with raised panel cherry wood doors and full mirrors add depth and dimension. A custom feature wall in the master suite adds depth, texture and interest to the otherwise plain walls. A blending of rich red tones works well to continue the dramatic, romantic feeling that flows through these interiors. A complete den was created in a secondary bedroom utilizing unique custom built-ins, also in deep tones of red mahogany.

In the kitchen, European-style cabinetry with rich cherry paneled doors complements stainless steel state-of-the-art appliances. An over-sized island with extended countertop acts as prep work area and also doubles as an eat-in breakfast area. The media room features mahogany paneled doors with custom Corinthian columns that tie in with the dining room dividers. The powder room features the same Baronial styling that resonates throughout this residence.
