“Haus E Linz” is a new residence in Linz, Austria. Designed by Caramel Architekten, this beautiful family home is located on the outskirts of the city, the terrain offers spectacular views of Linz, as it is built high enough to look through neighboring properties.
The foundation floor is about 6 meters above street level – with the pleasant side-effect of allowing the garden area to adjoin the living area on the same level to the west and north, despite the extreme slope.. Because the regulations only allowed the construction of up to 2,152 square feet [200 m2] per floor, it was not easy to accommodate the special plan for a family of five, especially since all primary functions had to be arranged in the living area; an upper floor was unwanted.
Only the children’s section has a lower level; each of the rooms of the children received a gallery with an adjacent balcony, obtained through stacking above the access and sanitary level.
The main entrance (which simultaneously serves as the entrance to a spacious garage area) opens dramatically towards the dam, while a staircase leads from the entrance to the floor room and wardrobe and wellness area, which it is separated in some way from the entrance. The sauna opens to a discreet rock garden in the northern part of the property.
