Casa Brutale: OPA presents conceptual cliffside house on the Aegean Sea

The Greek company OPA presents a concept with the name of Casa Brutale. It is a chameleonic architecture project that is located on a rock above the Aegean Sea. As indicated in the official description of the project, it is a geometric transition area and clear statement of simplicity and harmony of contemporary architecture.

The Casa Brutale project is made entirely of glass, concrete and wood, with a primary focus on the landscape and the ocean. The roof of this project was presented as a glaze floor of the pool, as a perfect and poetic continuation of the Aegean Sea, in perfect correlation with a perfect blue sky.

Fifty steps below lead the owners of this amazing house inside, where a high revolving door made of an old tree, as a deliberate detail, opens up to the rest of the house. A concrete crafted dining table is accompanied by an appropriate set of concrete benches, which are coated with a wooden surface.

Behind the seating, there is a fireplace that represents a unique sculpture, while in the area behind the dining table there is a guest bedroom that Zoellner made under an old glass roof. In addition to the guest rooms, there is a small passage leading to a storage space, bathroom and toilet.

A thin metal staircase leads to the “mezaninskog” floor where the master bedroom is fully exposed to a fascinating and incredible sea view. The bed is made of cast concrete with wood, while the walls are covered with mirrors to emphasize the play of light and shadow.

As the project designers and architects from the OPA studio say, Casa Brutale redefines the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, in a poetic tribute to pure brutalism.
